HEARTFELT CREATIONS - JULY 18, 2012

EXCITING NEWS!  This month Heartfelt Creations is delighted to release their very first line of Heartfelt Creations paper. Check out the beautiful patterns, luscious colors, and organic textures. Some come with their stamp images in them; others are abstract. This will add some fun and variety to your creations!

The Classic Edition Collection stamp sets and die release is gearing towards the fall season and colder days. A rustic truck, wooden wagon, playful dog, berries, apples, and pumpkins will keep you busy creating as the sun begins disappearing earlier in the evenings. Our card samples will give you many ideas to get your creative juices flowing. Leave a comment on the HC blog by July 24th and you will be eligible to win the entire release.

The first card I created with the new set features Grandpa's Truck pulling a wagon full of pumpkins.  This truck is so cute!  The exclusive HC die even cuts the door open to reveal a dog in the seat.  How fun is that!

Instructions:
8 1/2" x 4" Card

Begin with a 8 1/2" x 8" piece of brown cardstock and score on the 4" mark to create a 8 1/2" x 4" card base.  Next cut a 8 1/4" x 3 3/4" piece of HC Classic Editions Paper and with Scattered Straw Distress Ink stamp corn stalk image from Days Gone By Set slightly off left side of paper.  With Walnut Stain Distress Ink stamp tree from Days Gone By Set half off the paper at the top.  Attach paper to card front.  With Dries Clear Adhesive add OCL Sparkly Fluff - 24K Gold to corn tassels and Autumn Flower Soft to tree.  Allow to dry.  On Cryogen White Paper with Memento Ink stamp wagon, truck, dog, 3 pumpkins, bushel basket, and mums.  Color with Copics.  Detail cut the dog and mums and die cut the rest using HCD 724 - Classic Editions Die.  Also die cut 3 springs of leaves using green cardstock and Classic Editions Die.  Stamp wagon image on card front and color wagon tongue with Copics.  With Dries Clear Adhesive attach die cut wagon on stamped image on card front.  Add die cut springs of leaves and pumpkins in wagon using Dries Clear Adhesive and pop dots as needed.  Find proper placement for dog to be sitting in truck door and adhere dog to card front and then adhere truck with Dries Clear glue making sure truck is lined up with wagon tongue and dog in window.  Finish by adding bushel basket with mums adhering with pop dots.

HEARTFELT CREATIONS - JULY 16, 2012

I am so excited!  I am going to CHA.  I have never been to a Show or Expo so this will be a totally new experience for me.  I can't wait to see my projects and all of the other wonderful Heartfelt Creations Design Team members projects on display at the HC booth.

Today I wanted to share a card I created using Heartfelt Creations HCPC 3478 - Twining Roses PreCut Set and HCD 723 - Garden Romance Die.  I attached the round gate with brads so that the door even swings open.  It really makes the garden look inviting doesn't it!

HEARTFELT CREATIONS - JULY 4, 2012

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!  It is so dry in our area that we are under a burn ban until July 10th so there will not be any area firework displays, but we still are going to enjoy the day with a cookout.  I hope you are having a good day with family and friends celebrating the holiday.

It's also Heartfelt Creations' Wednesday and I would like to share two more cards I have made with the sweet Garden Romance Collection.  This collection can be used in so many ways, it definately is a must have set.  In my Blue Birdhouse Card I used the HCD 723 - Garden Romance Die to die cut the birdhouse to create a 3D effect in the scene and I also die cut the butterflies and bent their wings slightly up before adhereding them with a glue dot in the center .  In my Mailbox Card I paper pieced the mailbox and shaded it with Copics to add dimension and then I also die cut it with the HCD 723 - Garden Romance Die and adhered it with pop dots.  These added touches really make the cards special for the receiver.

Begin with a 6" x 12" piece of beige cardstock and score on the 6" mark to create a 6" square card.  Next adhere a 6" square piece of glittered DCWV cardstock on card base.  Next cut patterened Jillbean Soup paper to 5 3/4" square and wrap ribbon around paper adhering with Scor-Tape.  On Cryogen White paper die cut with SB Labels 4 with Memento Ink stamp birdhouse scene from HCPC 3476 - Mailbox Surprise Set.  Color with Copics and distress edges with Spun Sugar Distress Ink.  Adhere on ribbon on card front and add Water Dewdrops with Dries Clear Adhesive.  On Cryogen White Paper with Memento Ink stamp birdhouse from Mailbox Surpirse Set and butterflies from Brookside Manor Set.  Color with Copics and die cut with HCD 723 - Garden Romance Die.  Add birdhouse with pop dot to scene for 3D effect and add butterflies to card front.  Add Frost Smooch Glitz to butterflies.  Next on Cyogen White paper die cut with Classic Ovals LG stamp "You're the Best" sentiment from Classic Message Set and distress edges with Spun Sugar Distress Ink.  Matte on blue cardstock cut with Scalloped Ovals LG.  Add to card front with pop dot.

Lisa Lynne Wright

It was with great sadness this week, that when I returned from vacation I learned that my fellow design team sister Lisa Lynne had passed away unexpectedly.  I will truly miss Lisa Lynne.  She was always so supportive and she always faithfully commented on Design Team projects and Wednesday Design Team members HC blog posts.  Her dedication and creativity will truly be missed.  It is funny how I never met her in person, but through the computer I felt like I knew her and I have lost a friend.  My prayers are with her husband and family during this difficult time.

For my Heartfelt Creations project this week again I created with Heartfelt Creations newly released Garden Romance Collection.  I had this Prima paper from their Nature Garden collection and it goes great with HC 3477 - Bird Haven PreCut Set stamp.  I colored the roses peach to bring out the peach in the paper and added some peach Candi by Craftwork Cards. I really like how this clean and simple card turned out.

Today is not only a special day because it is Heartfelt Creations Wednesday, it is also my 20th Wedding Anniversary!  I can't believe it has been 20 years already.  John and I started dating at the age of 17, our senior year of high school, and we dated for five years.  We were married on June 6, 1992, one month after he graduated with a B.S. degree in Aviation from Purdue.  I wore my mother's wedding gown, which we added just a few extra embellishments to.  I can't imagine life without him.  We are planning a special vacation later in the year to celebrate.

For my Heartfelt Creations projects this week I used HCPC 3472 - China Fragments PreCut Set and cut each teacup out with the Spellbinders Nested Tea Cups Shapeabilities.  I just love teacups and this set is so fun to color with Copics.  I think most ladies would love to receive a card or tag with a beautifully colored teacup on it!

6" x 5 1/2" Center Step Card

Follow step by step instructions for making Center Step Card on Splitcoast Stampers. Next trace front of card on desired patterned paper. Cut 1/8" smaller all around so when you matte your patterned paper it creates a border with the card base. With coordinating cardstock cut two strips of paper to 1 1/8" x 4 1/4" and adhere to sides of card front. With Tuxedo Black Memento Ink stamp the largest teacup and color with Copics. Cut out with Nested Tea Cups Shapeabilities. Attach to card front with pop dots and add Yellow Stickles to flower center. Using Cryogen Paper cut out Spellbinders Label 4 and while still in die distress with Victorian Velvet Distress Ink. Remove from die and with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink stamp "Best Wishes . . . " sentiment from Heartfelt Expressions. Wrap Vintage Seam binding around center card front and adhere with Scor-Tape. Attach Label 4 on top. Finish by adding Adhesive Faux Pearls.

Instructions:
6" x 6" Card

Begin with a 12" x 6" piece of green cardstock and score at the 6" mark to create a 6" square card base.  Next attach a 5 3/4"square piece of patterned paper.  Wrap Vintage Seam Binding around left card front and adhere.  Next attach a brown piece cut from Spellbinders Classic Square SM and on top of that attach an orange piece of paper cut from the Spellbinders Lace Doily Motifs.  On Cryogen White paper stamp the larges teacup from the China Fragments Set and color with Copics.  Cut out with the Nested Tea Cups Shapeabilities.  Attach with pop dots on orange doily motif.  On circle cut with Spellbinders Standard Circles LG with Memento Ink stamp "Thanks . . ." sentiment from Heartfelt Expressions set.  Distress paper with Antique Linen Distress Ink.  Matte circle on orange cardstock cut from Classic Scalloped Circles LG and add spoon brad.  Attach with pop dot to upper left corner on seam binding.  To center of flowers on patterned paper add Brown & Yellow Stickles and Crystal Hot Rocks with I-Rock tool.
