Pop Up Sparkling Poinsettia Candle Card

     

Today I am sharing with you my Pop Up Sparkling Poinsettia Candle Card.  It features the stamps, dies and papers from the Heartfelt Creations Sparkling Poinsettia Collection and the Heartfelt Creations Decorative Oval Die.

What I like about this card design is that you can actually fold it flat to mail.  At the end of this post you will find complete instructions on how to create this Pop Up Christmas Card.

I actually created this card design back in October 2011 when I first applied for the Heartfelt Creations Design Team.  This is my original card that I created with the now discontinued Heartfelt Creations Holiday Poinsettia Candle PreCut Stamp Set and the discontinued Heartfelt Creations Decorative Window Scene Die.

Instructions:  To make this pop-up stand alone 5 1/2" x 7 3/4" card, first cut a 5 1/2” x 12” piece of cardstock.  Next score on 1”, 3” , 4”, 8” , 9” and 11” lines.    Next cut out 2 Decorative Ovals with die using the brown Sparkling Poinsettia Paper and glue together with Dries Clear Adhesive.  Add Gathered Twigs Distress Ink to the Oval die cut.  Adhere LeCreme Pearls to the oval die cut as shown.  Next attach base of oval die cut into your cardbase with Score-Tape and press to close oval piece between both flaps.  On Cryogen White paper with Tuxedo Black Ink stamp candle image.  Color with Copics and then carefully cut out image.  Add Frosted Lace Stickles to the wax area of the candle and Yellow Stickles to the flame.  Next on Cryogen White paper stamp the poinsettias and color with Copics.  Die cut with coordinating poinsettia die and then shape with Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit and add yellow Prills to flower centers.  Add poinsettias to candle image with Dries Clear Adhesive and pop dots.  Using paint brush add Desire Dimensional Paint to poinsettias and Leaf Dimensional Paint to leaves.  Adhere candle image to decorative oval.  Add LeCreme Swirls Finesse to top of card base in front of decorative oval and behind.  Add Dark Green Pearls Strip to front edge of card base and back edge of card base.  On design paper stamp arrow from the Everyday Hero Newsprint stamp set with Galaxy Gold Ink, add Gold Embossing Powder and tap off excess.  Heat Set.  Die cut with coordinating arrow die from the Everyday Hero die.  Stamp "Comfort & Joy" sentiment from the candle set on the arrow with Bamboo Memento Ink.  Also with Bamboo Ink stamp the Noel Buckle Sentiment and die cut with the coordinating Everyday Hero die.  Paint buckle with Leaf Dimensional Paint.  Insert sentiment arrow and add a Red Pearl to the arrow and to the right of the card base as shown.  Add sentiment buckle and arrow to card base with pop dots.  The card will fold flat for mailing.

Instructions:  Begin by creating a 6" x 6" card base and then adhere a 6" x 6" card front cut from the Sparkling Poinsettia Paper Collection.  Next cut a piece of burgundy paper from the Poinsettia paper using the Cut Mat Create 2B Die and adhere it to the center of the card front.  Then take a navy piece of paper from the Posy Patch Paper Collection and die cut it with the Spellbinders Floral Assortment Die and adhere it to the card front with the Dries Clear Adhesive using the Metal Glue Tip.  With Tuxedo Black Ink on Cryogen White Paper stamp the image from the Joy to the World Set and then die cut it with the Cut Mat Create 2A Die.  Color image with Copics.  With Dries Clear Adhesive add Mellow Yellow Glitter to the star, Flax Glitter to the hay and Dazzle Art Anthology Sorbet Paint to the blanket.  Next add a Yellow Rhinestones to the center of the star.  Adhere colored image to the card front.  On burgundy and cream Poinsettia Paper with Galaxy Gold Ink stamp the Sparkling Poinsettia Stamp Set and then add Gold Embossing Powder.  Tap off excess and heat set.  Die cut poinsettias using the Sparkling Poinsettia Die.  On green Poinsettia Paper with Galaxy Gold Ink stamp the leaves from the Large Sparkling Poinsettia Set and then add Gold Embossing Powder.  Tap off excess and heat set.  Die cut the leaves with the coordinating Large Sparkling Poinsettia Die. Using Vellum, die cut a lace flower using the Arianna Lace Die and then paint the lace flower with Leaf Art Anthology Sorbet Paint.  Shape poinsettias and leaves with Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit and layer as shown.  For the center of the small burgundy poinsettia add golden Rock n' Roll Prills with Dries Clear Adhesive and on the larger cream poinsettia use the die cut burgundy centers, spraying them with Tattered Angels Gold Glitter Mist and then adding Crystal Glitter with Dries Clear Adhesive.  Layered vellum Arianna Lace Flower behind larger cream flower and add leaves and poinsettias to card as shown.  Using the Luggage and Tags Die, die cut the "Oh Holy Night" tag and then add to left of card with a pop dot and add a Steel Blue Pearl to the hole in the tag.  Finally, add LeCreme Pearls and a Sage Green Pearl to the upper right corner of the card front.

Instructions:  To create a 6" x 6" step card begin with a 12" x 6" piece of cream Bazzill cardstock. Line cardstock up in paper trimmer so that top edge of (6" side) is at top in paper trimmer and (12") side of cardstock is at the 1 1/4" mark and position cutting blade at 1 1/4" mark. Cut from 1 1/4" mark to 7 1/4" mark. Flip card over and cut the same on the other side. Place card sideways in Scor-Pal and score on the 1 1/4" cut side at 1 1/4", 2 1/2" and 7 1/4" marks. Repeat on opposite 1 1/4" cut side of card. On the 3 3/8" center between cuts score at the 6" mark. Fold at the score lines to create a 6" Center Step Card. For the side panels cut 2 pieces of Blazing Poppy Paper 1 1/4" x 4 3/4". For center panel trace the shape on the desired Blazing Poppy Paper and then cut out and adhere to the center panel.  Cut out the red lace trim from the design paper and adhere it to the bottom of the center panel.  With Memento Ink on Cryogen White Paper stamp the blazing poppy cluster image from the Blazing Poppy Vase Stamp Set and color with Copics.  Detail cut out the bouquet and with Dries Clear Adhesive add Crystal Glitter to the leaves and Black Gala Glitz to the center of the poppy. Using the red and black design paper from the Blazing Poppy Paper Collection die cut with the Spellbinders Filigree Vase and adhere together to create a vase.  Add colored bouquet to die cut vase and adhere to center of step card with pop dots.  Die cut the tag using the Luggage and Tags Die, add Black Licorice Glitter to the center of the poppy on the tag and add to the bouquet with a Tim Holtz Memo Pin.  Then on Cryogen White Paper with Tuxedo Black Ink stamp two poppy clusters from the Blazing Poppy Fillers Stamp Set.  Color with Copics and detail cut out.  Add Black Gala Glitz to the center of the poppies and adhere one to each side of the bottom of the card front with Dries Clear Adhesive.

Instructions:  Begin by creating a A2 card base out of white cardstock.  Next take the A2 card front cut from the Blazing Poppy Paper Collection and die cut the center image using the coordinating Cut Mat Create 1A Die.  Adhere the A2 Blazing Poppy card front to the white card base.  Adhere die cut image to blue cardstock and then adhere to card front.  On red design paper from the Blazing Poppy Paper with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink stamp the Blazing Poppy Petals Stamp and die cut with the coordinating Blazing Poppy die.  Paint poppies with Desire Art Anthology Velvet Dimensional Paint. With flower shaping tools and a mat, shape the poppies.  Layer three poppies together to create one flower and add Blue Gala Glitz to center of poppy with Dries Clear Adhesive.  Add Art Glitter Ensalada Glitter to leaves on design paper with Dries Clear Adhesive.  Add the sentiment across the image as shown, adhering the ends of the sentiment only and then add a Blue Want2Scrap Pearl with Dries Clear Adhesive to each end.  With Dries Clear Adhesive add Silver Want2Scrap Rhinestones to three of the corners as shown.

Spellbinders Summer Road Trip Partner Hop

Today is the first day of the Spellbinders Summer Road Trip Partner Hop and I am thrilled to be representing Want2Scrap.  There are some great prizes up for grabs including a chance to win one of Spellbinders newly released Sapphire™ die cutting and embossing machines.

What better way to enjoy a summer adventure than on a pink bicycle surrounded by butterflies and birds!

I was given the wonderful new Spellbinders Sapphire PHS-507 Birds and Butterflies dies and PHD-017 Mini Fancy Tags One dies to work with.

I started by creating a 6" x 6" card base and then adhering a 6" x 6" card front from the Heartfelt Creations Celebrate the Journey Paper Collection.  I added Crystal Art Glitter with Art Glitter Dries Clear Adhesive to the flowers in the bicycle basket before adding the small Want2Scrap Amber Rhinestones to the center of each flower.  I added a Gun Metal Pearl to the center of each bicycle tire and added Sage Green Pearls to each of the four corner of the design paper.

Using paper from Graphic 45 Botanical Tea Patterns and Solids 6" x 6" Paper, I die cut and embossed the largest and the smallest butterfly from the PHS-507 Birds and Butterflies set.  While the dies were still in place, using a sponge dauber, I added a little color with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Worn Lipstick. I die cut and embossed the birds sitting in a row twice using green and brown paper from the Celebrate the Journey Paper Collection.  While the die was still in place on the brown paper, using a sponge dauber, I added Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Walnut Stain.  I then adhered the green birds first and then the brown birds slightly lower, to create a shadow effect. 

I die cut the green design paper using the PHD-017 Mini Fancy Tags One die and then die cut a cream piece of design paper with Spellbinders Standard Circles SM and matted it on the Mini Fancy Tags One and added a circle of Brown Rhinestones from the Nestabling Heart Circles - Brown Rhinestones around the center and Brown Rhinestones to each end of the die cut, before adhering it to the card front with pop dots.  I then added the small butterfly to the center of the Mini Tag, adding Sleek Strips 6" Silver Rhinestones down the center of the butterfly and Swirls Finesse - LeCreme Pearls to the bottom of the butterfly, cutting both to fit as needed. 

I then adhered the center of the large butterfly to the card and added Sleek Strips 12" Pearls - Yellow to the center of the butterfly and Swirls Finesse - LeCreme Pearls to the bottom of the butterfly, cutting both to fit as needed. With a sponge brush, I painted the Adventure - Fancy Chipboard Word with Leaf Art Anthology Sorbet Dimensional Paint and then adhered it to the card front with Art Institute Dries Clear Adhesive.   Finally, out of seam binding I created a bow.  I also added some cream twine to the Want2Scrap Antique Silver Butterfly Charm, added it to the bow, and adhered it to the card front.

Heartfelt Creations and Art Anthology Blog Hop

This week the Heartfelt Creations Design Team is teaming up with Art Anthology.  My first card this week uses Art Anthology Dimensional Paint.  It was so easy to work with and dries very quickly.

I used Art Anthology Velvet Dimensional Paint in Desire on the poppy flower and Art Anthology Sorbet Dimensional Paint in Leaf on the upper leaf on my card.

For my second card this week, I used a 6" x 6" card front from the Blazing Poppy Paper Collection, added a sentiment ticket die cut with the Luggage and Tags Die, a butterfly, a poppy and a few rhinestones and I quickly have a beautiful card ready to send.

I stamped the poppies on design paper from the Blazing Poppy Paper Collection with VersaMark Watermark Ink, added Black Glint Wow Embossing Powder and heat set for a bold look.

Instructions:  Adhere an A2 Heartfelt Creations Blazing Poppy Paper card front to the A2 white card base.  Add Red and Black Want2Scrap Rhinestones to bottom right corner as shown.  Adhere the flower image that has been die cut with a Spellbinders Circles Die to the black cardstock that has been die cut with Spellbinders Petite Scalloped Circles die and then add it to the card front with pop dots.  With flower shaping tools and a mat, shape the poppies and leaves that have been stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink with HCPC 3674 – Blazing Poppies Petals and HCPC 3656 Delightful Daisies (leaves) and die cut with HCD1-764 – Blazing Poppy Die and HCD1-760 – Delightful Daisies Die and painted with Art Anthology Velvet Desire Dimensional Paint.  The leaves have been stamped with VersaMark Watermark Ink and Wow Black Glint Embossing Powder and heat set.  Paint the one leaf with Art Anthology Sorbet Leaf Dimension Paint.  Layer three poppies together to create one flower and add Black Gala Glitz to center of poppy.  Add Art Glitter Ensalada Glitter to leaves on design paper and to the other leaf.  Add leaves and poppy to card front as shown and finish by add Crystal Stickles to Baby’s Breathe on design paper.

Instructions:  Create a 6" x 6" card base out of green Bazzill cardstock.  Next take a 6" x 6" card front from the Blazing Poppy Paper Collection and die cut out the center using the Spellbinders Classic Circles LG coordinating die.  Take the image on the circle and with Dries Clear Adhesive add Lichen Glitter to the leaves and the butterflies and add Black Licorice Glitter to the center of the poppy. Adhere circle back on the card front with pop dots.  Next with Watermark Ink on red Blazing Poppy Paper stamp the Blazing Poppy Petals and then add Black Glint Wow Embossing Powder. Tap off excess and heat set.  With Forest Moss Distress Ink stamp the leaves from the Delightful Daisies Set and die cut with the coordinating Delightful Daisy die.  Shape leaves and poppy petals with the Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit.  Layer poppy petals as shown and with Dries Clear Adhesive add Black Licorice Glitter to center of poppy.  With Dries Clear Adhesive add Lichen Glitter to leaves.  Add leaves and poppy to image as shown.  Then on Cryogen White Paper with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink stamp the Butterfly Medley Set twice.  Color the small butterfly on both images with Copics and die cut with the coordinating Butterfly Medley Die.  Add Lichen Glitter with Dries Clear Adhesive to the wings.  Layer the butterflies on top of each other adhering the bodies only and then adhere to the card front as shown.  Then using the Luggage and Tags Die, die cut the "Always and Forever" ticket from the Blazing Poppy Paper and add to card front with a pop dot.  Add Silver and Black Rhinestones to bottom right hand corner of card front.
