MOUNTAIN SCENE CARD

Today I want to share with you a easel card that features a beautiful mountain scene from Heartfelt Creations HCPC 3526 - Natural Beauty PreCut Set that I colored with Copics. 

MOUNTAIN SCENE CARD

To capture the reflection of the mountains in the water, I then turned the image upside down and colored the mountains identically only in a shade lighter of Copics and then after it was completely dry, I took my B10 (Note:  make sure your B10 is very wet) and with the broad end I took long single strokes over the scene to make it look like water.   I then went back and added a few highlights on the trees and mountains in the reflection where needed.  I was very happy with how this technique turned out.

I matted the scene on Heartfelt Creations Decorative Oval Window Die and used Psalm 19:1 from Heartfelt Creations HCPC 3312 - Uplifting Scriptures PreCut Set matted on Bazzill paper die cut with Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Rectangles.  To finish the card I added The Robin's Nest Dew Drops in Goldenberry.

Instructions:

5 1/4" x 5 1/4" Card

Begin with a 10 1/2" x 5 1/4" piece of Bazzil cardstock and score on the 2 5/8" and 5 1/4" mark to create your easel base. Next cut a 5 1/4" square piece of Bazzil cardstock and adhere to 2 5/8" x 5 1/4" section of easel base with Scor-Tape to create your easel card front. Then adhere a 5" square piece of pink Bazzill cardstock and then a 4 3/4" square piece of HC Posy Patch Paper to both the easel card base and card front.  Then with Memento Ink on Cryogen White Paper die cut with Classic Ovals SM stamp mountain scene image and color with Copics.  Add Victorian Velvet Distress Ink to edges.  Matte on brown cardstock die cut with HC Decorative Ovals Window Die and adhere to card front.  On Cryogen White Paper die cut with Classic Rectangles SM with Memento Ink stamp Psalm 19:1 and then distress edges with Antique Linen Distress Ink.  Matte on pink cardstock die cut with Fleurs de Lis Rectangles and adhere with pop dots to card base.  With Dries Clear Glue adhere Goldenberry Dew Drops.

HC GARDEN POTS CARD

Today I want to share a card I made that represents what I have been doing all week -- working in my flower garden and filling my patio pots.  My oldest daughter Malinda graduates from high school in a few short weeks and I am busy getting the yard and patio ready for her Open House party.  We have had beautiful weather, so I have been taking advantage of the lovely warm Spring days and getting ready for the party. 

I used Heartfelt Creations Broken Cinder Blocks image colored with Copics and then I used the Tattered Blossoms flowers stamp, which I then diecut with the Tattered Blossoms Die to create 3D flowers.  Also I used Art Glitter Tailings Elements for the flower centers and Art Glitter Redland Elements for the dirt in the flower pot.

HEARTFELT CREATIONS - NOVEMBER 14, 2012

Good Morning!  It's a brisk Wednesday morning here in Northern Indiana.  We had are first snow flurries this week.  I am not ready for snow just yet!

My first card this week I created for Heartfelt Creations uses the beautiful papers and stamps from the Delicate Asters Collection.  The lavender aster is 3D and on both asters I used Tailings Elements in the flower centers for texture.  I also used the beautiful new Spellbinders Decorative Labels Eight.

 

SCRIPT ASTER CARD

Since Thanksgiving is next week for my second card I created a Fall Card.  I used Heartfelt Creations HC 3331 - All Seasons PreCut Set and added Autumn Flower Soft to create a beautiful Autumn card.  What I love about this tree stamp is that you could just as easily create any season with different colored Flower Soft.  So very versatile!

Distress edges with Antique Linen Distress Ink. Matte on lavender Bazzill paper die cut with Spellbinders Decorative Labels Eight. With Memento Ink on Cryogen White Paper stamp 2 medium asters, 2 small asters and 2 leaves from HC Delicate Asters Set. Color with Copics and die cut with Delicate Asters die and layer asters and leaves for dimension and adhere with Dries Clear Adhesive to aster on Script Aster Background image. Happy Memorial Day!  I hope you are having a wonderful weekend.  It has been very hot here in Indiana - in the 90s which is a little unusual for May.

I guess I was having such a busy week last week creating and working on some future projects for Heartfelt Creations that I forgot to post my Wednesday, May 23 entry. 

The card I made last week has a summer look and feel.  The scene I colored with Copics is from the HCPC 3444 - Scenic Vistas PreCut Set and I used HCD 718 - Chateau Gate Die to frame the colored scene.

6” x 6” Finished Card Size

Begin with a 12” x 6” piece of beige Bazzill cardstock and score at the 6” mark to create a 6” x 6” card base.  Next take a 6” x 6” piece of My Mind’s Eye – A Happy Heart patterned paper and adhere to the card base.  Wrap the May Arts Ribbon around the card front adhering with Scor-Tape.  Make a bow securing it with a pearl brad in the center.  Attach the bow to the ribbon on the card with a hot glue gun.  Next take Bazzill Bling paper in pink and cut using the Heartfelt Creations Decorative Chateau Gate Die and Spellbinders Grand Calibur.  Spray Chateau Gate with Ranger Perfect Pearls Mist in Interference Red.  Heat Set.  Then with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Cryogen White paper stamp the image from the Heartfelt Creations Scenic Vista Set and color with Copics.  Detail cut image out to fit inside the Chateau Gate and adhere to Chateau Gate.  Next using Art Glitter Dries Clear Adhesive adhere Chateau Gate to card front.  On Cryogen White paper oval cut out with Spellbinders Petite Oval Small, stamp “Have a Special Day” sentiment from Heartfelt Creation Inspire Me Sentiments Set with Memento Ink.  Distress edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Antique Linen and Milled Lavender.  Matte on scalloped oval cut with Spellbinder Petite Scalloped Ovals LG out of lavender Bazzill Bling paper.  Finish by adding Recollections Adhesive Faux Pearls to upper corners of card front.

Joan's Weekly Challenge #15

This week Joan's Gardens Weekly Challenge #15  is to make a card or project which includes flowers using dies or punches.  From the entries in this challenge six Guest Designers will be chosen for a blog hop on May 15th.  You may enter more than once so I also entered my Clematis/Church card that I made for my Heartfelt Creations post today too.

I usually always color everything with Copics, but today I branched out and stamped Metallic Vellum paper with Heartfelt Creations Stamps HCPC 3406 - Botanical Floral 1 PreCut Set and HCPC 3407 - Botanical Floral 2 PreCut Set and cut them out with Spellbinders Rose Creations Shapeabilities Dies.  I used a Paper Blossom Tool Kit and Molding Mat to shape the flowers.  I added brads and brown Gala Glitz to the flower centers.  I added Ranger Diamond Stickles to some of the flower edges for some sparkle.  The sentiment is from HCPC 3308 - Agape Love PreCut Set.  I distressed the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Antique Linen and Tattered Rose and adhered it on a Spellbinders Lattice Rectangle.  The paper is Prima - Madeline Collection and I finished the card by adding some Recollection Faux Adhesive Pearls.

I am really happy how this card turned out.  I love all the dimension these handmade flowers have added.  I am definitely going to be creating more of these flowers!

HEARTFELT CREATIONS - APRIL 25, 2012

Then with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Cryogen White paper stamp the church from the Going to the Chapel Set, the palace entry from the Palace Entry Set, the door from the Grand Portal Set, both clematis images from the Twining Clematis Set, and stamp 1 small, 1 med-small, 3 medium and 1 med-large clematis from the Malabar Clematis Set. Color all with Copics.  Next to cut out the individual clematis flowers use the HC Cross & Lillies Die and to cut out the grand portal door use the HC Decorative Chateau Gate Die. Detail cut both Twining Clematis and the Palace Entry. Cut the church image out using the Classic Square LG Spellbinder and then matte on lavender cardstock cut with the Classic Scalloped Square LG Spellbinder Die. Adhere church image to inside of card. With x-acto knife cut out center of Palace Entry Door and then with x-acto knife cut opening for door on card front to align with picture of church inside. Adhere Palace Entry Door and then Grand Portal Door. Next adhere both colored images of Twining Clematis to lower left of Palace Entry Door. With pop dots add individual clematis for dimension. With Dries Clear Adhesive add White Gala Glitz to center of each flower. Stamp "You are invited" sentiment from Door to My Heart Set to upper left corner of card front. Add adhesive sticker embellishment to upper right corner.

HEARTFELT CREATIONS - APRIL 4, 2012

Happy Spring!  Here in Northern Indiana we have had beautiful weather.  I have been working in my flower beds and my kitty, Muffin, has been helping me.  The birds are busy making nests and Muffin keeps a close eye on the birds.   I just love the feeling of new beginnings and new life in Spring!

With Dries Clear Glue add Bark Element to nest. Add Dewdrops to edge of Label 10 and when all dry attach Label to card front as shown.

Instructions:
6" x 6" Card

Begin with a 12" x 6" piece of brown cardstock and score on the 6" mark to create a 6" x 6" card base. Next cut a piece of the Prima patterned paper to 6" x 6" and wind a ribbon around the edge and adhere to back. Attach patterned paper to card front. Cut a small circle and a large circle out of the Spellbinders die and on the small circle with Memento Ink stamp the sentiment and on the large circle stamp the Blue Jay. Color with copics. Distress both edges with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink. Using blue cardstock cut out a Beaded Circles with the Spellbinder die and mount the colored Blue Jay. Using pop dots attach to card front. Next using rose cardstock cut out a motif from the Spellbinder Floral Doily Motif die and mount the sentiment. Attach to upper left corner of card front. Finally attach Water Dewdrops with Dries Clear Glue to bottom right corner.

Instructions:
6" x 6"  Card
Begin with a 12" x 6" piece of green cardstock and score on the 6" mark to create a 6" x 6" card base. Next adhere a 5 3/4" square piece of Echo Park printed paper on card base. Then wind the twine around the side of the card front several time and finish with a bow. Next with Memento ink stamp the sentiment on an circle cut with the Spellbinders Classic Circles and distress the edges with Spun Sugar Distress Ink. Attached to scalloped circle cut from green cardstock cut out with Spellbinder die.  Insert brad in top of circle and attach with pop dot below twine bow.  Next stamp river scene image with Memento Ink on Cryogen White paper and color with copics.  Cut image down to 3 1/4" square and then matte on a 3 1/2" square of pink cardstock.  Add Peony Pink Flower Soft to a few flowers in the front of the colored image to add dimension.  Out of green cardstock cut a large Spellbinder Lacey Square and matte image.  Adhere to card front.

Start with a 12" x 6" piece of cream cardstock and score on the 6" mark to make a 6" square card. Next with Memento Ink on Cryogen White paper stamp the house scene from Scenic Vista PreCut Set and then color with Copics.  On a 6" x 6" piece of My Mind's Eye Paper with Antique Linen Distress Ink stamp the Love Flourish in the top left corner, the small Flourish in the top right corner and the medium Flourish in the bottom left corner from HCPC 3435 Feather Grass Flourish set.  Adhere paper to card front and add faux pearls to Flourishes. Add ribbon to center of card and make bow and add pearl brad to center of bow.  Cut the Decorative Chateau Gate shown with Cuttlebug, removing inner doors.  Cut out the scene to fit behind the Chateau Gate.  Add Taffy Smooch to house and then when dry add Our Craft Lounge Crafty Sparkles - Chunky Crystals.  Adhere scene to card and Chateau Gate using Dries Clear Adhesive.  With straight edge trimmer cut out "Home . . . " sentiment and distress edges with Antique Linen Distress Ink.    Take beige Bazzill paper and with the Cuttlebug, emboss it with the Cuttlebug Paper Lace II embossing folder.  Attach sentiment to beige embossed cardstock and attach to card front beneath Chateau Gate.

Next with Memento Ink on Cryogen White paper stamp the scene from Doorway Trimmings, the Palace Entry and the sentiment "as you step . . . ".  Color scene and Palace Entry with Copics and detail cut out.  Attach to card front.  With a straight edge trimmer cut out the sentiment and distress edges with Distress Ink - Old Paper and Weathered Wood and attach to card front under Palace Entry.  Stamp "Congratulations" on upper right corner of card front.  Add brushed pewter Distress Stickles to round finial at top of Palace Entry door.  With Cuttlebug and using the Ivy die from HCD 718 - Decorative Chateau Gate cut Ivy in two shades of green and weave together adhering to card front as shown with 1/8" Scor-Tape.  Add clear Dew Drops as shown by the Ivy with Dries Clear Adhesive.

Instructions:

Start with a 12" x 6" piece of gray cardstock  and score on the 6" mark to make a 6" square card.   Next with Memento Ink on Cryogen White paper stamp the Grape Border twice, the Chateau Gateway scene and the "May the obstacles . . . " sentiment.  Color the Chateau Gateway Scene and both Grape Borders with Copics and detail cut out.  Add brads for doorknobs and then adhere Gateway Scene to card front.  With straight edge trimmer cut out sentiment and matte to two coordinating purple colored Bazzill papers.  Adhere to card above Gateway Scene.  Next attach Grape Borders using 1/8" Scor-Tape cutting apart as needed to curve up along each side of the door.  Use remaining grapes as embellishments at top of card. Add Metallic Pearl Brad and Glam Rocks with I-Rock tool as embellishments as shown.

OCL CHALLENGE 98 - END OF YEAR CHALLENGE!

Using the photo above as inspiration, I made this card using the Our Craft Lounge Penguin Fun stamp set for the OCL challenge this week. It is a fun set that you can use all winter. We sure don't have snow right now -- its in the 40s and may even get up to 50 degrees this week. It sure is not a typical Indiana January, but since my 16 year old daughter just got her driver's license last week I am okay with the fact that we don't have snow!

HEARTFELT CREATIONS - JANUARY 4, 2012

It is hard to believe a new year is here already!   My wish for each of you for the New Year is health and happiness and time to do what you enjoy in the year ahead.  For me that is making cards and I sure have been having fun creating again this week for Heartfelt Creations.  This week I used two stamps with a winter theme.

Start with a 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" piece of Kraft cardstock and score at the 4 1/4" mark to create an A2 size card base.  Next cut the Echo Park patterned paper 4" x 5 1/4" and adhere to card front.  Stamp the bow from the Poinsettia Cheer Bells set and the winter scene from the Snowy Window Scene set on Cryogen White paper with Memento Ink.  Color with Copics.  Cut out winter scene with Classic Square LG Spellbinder and add Crystal glitter (on ground) and Diamond Stickles (on trees) for accents.  Detail cut colored bow and adhere both to card front.

Stamp mailbox scene on Cryogen White with Memento Ink and color with Copics.  Cut out with Classic Square LG Spellbinder and add Crystal glitter.  Stamp "With Love" sentiment from Inspire Me Sentiments with clear Emboss It Ink on red cardstock and add gold embossing powder.  Heat set.  Trim edges with Scalloped Scallop Edger Punch.  Adhere mailbox scene and sentiment to card front.  Add red twine to top of card and secure button to center of bow with hot glue gun.
