Heartfelt Creations

I have been busy working on holiday projects for Heartfelt Creations.  I can't believe Christmas is around the corner.  I still have a lot to do around the house to get ready, but I am looking forward to time with family and friends over the holidays.

The first card I am sharing this week  for me is pretty simple since I didn't take the time to do any of my usual shading and coloring with Copics.  I haven't done much embossing, but I think I may start doing more because it was really fun and easy!

GOLD CHRISTMAS TREE CARD

Heartfelt Creations Products:
  • HCPC 3432 Magnificent Spruce Trees PreCut Set
  • HCPC 3430 Shepherd Scene PreCut Set
  • HCPC 3436 Rye Grass Flourish PreCut Set
  • HCD 708 Decorative Window Scene Die
  • Spellbinders Fancy Tags Three
  • Art Glitter Designer Dries Clear Adhesive
Other Products:
  • Paper:  Bazzill, Bazzill Bling, DCWV
  • Ink:  Ranger Distress Ink - Old Paper & Ranger Clear Embossing Ink
  • Embellishments:  Ranger Embossing Powder - Gold, Ranger Perfect Pearls Mist - Perfect Pearl, Gold Ribbon, Candi
Instructions:
Card Size 5" x 7"
Start with a 7" x 10" piece of cream cardstock and score at the 5" mark to create a 5" x 7" card base.  Next with Old Paper Distress Ink stamp the corner flourish from HCPC 3436 Rye Grass Flourish PreCut Set in each corner.  Out of blue Bazzill Bling paper cut the Decorative Window Die and out of the dark blue Bazzill Bling paper cut the rectangular tag from the Spellbinders Fancy Tags Three.  Next on white Bazzill paper with clear embossing ink stamp the large Christmas tree from the HCPC 3432 Magnificent Spruce Trees PreCut Set and use gold embossing powder.  Heat set.  Then spray with Ranger Perfect Pearls Mist and heat set again.  Carefully cut tree out so white paper does not show beyond edge of inside frame of window frame die securing with 1/8" Scor-Tape as needed.  Adhere window frame to card front with Dries Clear Adhesive.  Apply navy blue Candi to top corners with pop dots.  Then with clear embossing ink stamp the "Oh holy night" sentiment from HCPC 3430 Shepherd Scene PreCut Set on white cardstock and use gold embossing powder.  Heat set.  Use a straight edge trimmer and cut to fit the tag and adhere to tag.  Next with adhesive apply gold ribbon and then the tag onto the bottom portion of the card.

The next project I did this week involved an angel I had around the house.  I added a few embellishments to her and created a music themed tag with Heartfelt Creation Products and created a beautiful gift idea.  I am entering my Silent Night Angel with Tag this week in the Our Craft Lounge Challenge #96 - Handmade Holiday .

Heartfelt Creations

Happy Heartfelt Creations Wednesday!  It is officially winter here in Northern Indiana.  We got about 8" of snow last night.  It had rained yesterday afternoon and then all that water froze turning to ice and then we got all this very heavy wet snow.  Several trees and power lines came down, but luckily we always had power.  The kids had a 2 hour delay today from school and were excited about getting to sleep in.  It definitely is beginning to look a lot like Christmas around here!  Today I am sharing two card I made that have a Christmas / Winter theme.  Check out the other beautiful projects made by the other Design Team members on the Heartfelt Creations blog!

The project I made is a candle using one of Heartfelt Creations new exclusive Spellbinders dies HCD 717 Layered Scalloped Posy Die.  It is really easy to make and the results are so beautiful!
SCALLOPED POSY DIE CANDLE

Heartfelt Creations Products:
  • HCD 717 Layered Scalloped Posy Die
  • HCD 702 Decorative Butterfly - Border Die
  • Art Glitter Designer Dries Clear Adhesive

Other Products:

4 1/2" tall x 16" dia. Candle, Bazzill & Recollections Cardstock, 2" Gold Head Pins, Beads, Ribbon, Ranger Liquid Pearls - Platinum Pearl

Instructions:

Cut 3 large scallops from the Heartfelt Creations Layered Scalloped Posy Die out of green Bazzill cardstock.  Cut 3 small scallops from the Heartfelt Creations Layered Scalloped Posy Die out of the burgundy Recollections cardstock.  Also, out of  the burgundy cardstock cut a scalloped border out of Heartfelt Creations Border Die and then weave 1/4" gold ribbon through the loops.  Next using Art Glitter Designer Dries Clear Adhesive glue large green scallops around candle approximately 3/4" from top of candle and then glue small burgundy scallops in between the green scallops.  Use 2" head pins (found in the jewelry section of craft stores) and thread bead through pin.  Using wire cutters, shorten head pins to make it easier to insert in the candle.  Insert head pin with bead in candle in the center of random flowers of the Scalloped Posy Diecuts and in the other flower centers use Ranger Liquid Pearls - Platinum Pearls.  Next adhere the burgundy scalloped border around the top of the candle with the Drys Clear Adhesive.  Around the base of the candle wrap a wider decorative ribbon and attach with shortened head pins into the candle.

  • Scor-Pal
Instructions:
Cut one 4 ¼” x 4 ¼” piece of cardstock out of dark rose cardstock and one 4 ¼” x 8 ½” piece of brown cardstock.  Score the 4 ¼” x 8 ½” cardstock at the 4 1/4” and the 6 3/8” measurement lines on the Scor-Pal or other scoring tool.  Prefold all score lines.  First fold the card in half, then at the second score line (6 3/8”) fold the opposite direction.  Place the card on the table with the 4 ¼” side down.  Add double sided tape to the 2 1/8”  x 4 ¼” section cardstock facing up. Now attach the precut 4 ¼” x 4 ¼” piece of cardstock to the base, lining it up to make a perfect square.  This creates the easel card base.  Cut a piece of light rose card stock 4" x 4" and a piece of brown cardstock 3 3/4" x 3 3/4".  Take the brown cardstock 3 3/4" x 3 3/4" square and with VersaMark Dazzle Champagne ink use the swirls stamp from the HCPC 3420 Holiday Dove PreCut Set and stamp several times. Mat brown cardstock on top of light rose cardstock and mat both on top of dark rose cardstock.  Next, color dove with Copics on Cryogen White cardstock and then cut out with HCD 715 Christmas Cheer Die.  Add Ranger Liquid Pearls to center of flowers and let dry.  With Spellbinders dies cut out oval in Cryogen White and appropriate scalloped oval from dark rose cardstock.  Stamp sentiment from HCPC 3421 Dove of Peace Precut Set on Cryogen White and then distress edges with Ranger Distress Ink - Old Paper.  Cut a piece of patterned paper cardstock 4 1/4" x 2 1/2" and attach to base of easel card.  On top of that with pop dots attach sentiment.  I use 2 layers of pop dots to make it stand up higher since this is what makes the easel card stand up.  Then with pop dots attach dove to front of card on brown cardstock.

Heartfelt Creations

Today on the Heartfelt Creations blog are two more of my projects that I submitted for the Finalist round of the Design Team.

The first projects is a gift card holder that is made out of an A2 envelop.  I learned how to make this from Dionne who teaches Copics Club classes at the scrapbook store More Memories in New Paris, IN, my hometown.

Supplies:
  • Stamps:  Heartfelt Creations Scenic Combo (HCPC 3355), Hydrangea/Posy Branch Set (HCPC 3301)
  • Spellbinders:    Classic Ovals, Labels 10
  • Paper:    A2 Envelop, Cryogen White, Bazzill, K&Co
  • Ink: Ranger Distress Ink – Black Soot, Walnut Stain & Old Paper
  • Copics:  G21, G28, W00, W1, W3, W5, W7, YG61, YG63, YG67, YG91, YG95, YG97, YG99,  E23, E27, E29, E53, E57, E59, B91, B93, B95, BG000, Colorless Blender
  • Embellishments:     Ribbon, Twine, Brad
Instructions:

To make gift card holder take an A2 envelope and score the envelop in half and cut the flap in half.  Glue down the left side.  The right side is the pocket for the gift card.  Distress edges (including center) with Ranger Distress Ink – Old Paper.  Add score tape across the front of the envelope and attach a piece of ribbon to close the gift card holder.  Cut 3 pieces of paper 4” x 2 ¾” (test cut one piece and check size).  Use patterned paper or matte several layers of paper as desired.  Cut to size the panel that will go on the gift card pouch and then punch a half circle on that panel.  This will make it easier to remove the gift card.  Make a flap to fit, tapering the edges and attach to envelop flap.  Attach all panels and add brad to flap.  Make hole in gift card panel and pull a piece of twine through the hole, knotting it inside the pouch.  On Cryogen White paper stamp the mountain scene. Color with Copics and then cut out scene into a 4” x 2 ½” rectangle.  With distressing tool, distress edges and then with Ranger Distress Ink – Old Paper, distress edges with ink.  Attach colored mountain scene to front of gift card holder with double sided foam tape.  On Cryogen White paper stamp sentiment from Hydrangea/Posy Branch set on oval cut out from Spellbinders and distress edges with Ranger Distress Ink – Old Paper.  Out of Brown paper cut coordinating Spellbinder Label 10.  Attach to inside of card holder.  Insert gift card or money and use outside ribbon to tie card closed.

My second project I am sharing today is a pop up card that folds flat for mailing.  The picture really doesn't do this card justice.  It is much more stunning in real life - I wish everyone could see it in person!  I even added clear cardstock in between the window frames to make it look like there is glass in the window.
